I’m Rafal Tomal, a designer and web developer living in Chicago. I’m the VP of Design at Rainmaker Digital by day and I draw weird stuff and work on my personal projects by night.
I was born and raised in beautiful southeastern Poland. I moved to the USA right after graduating high school to start a new life and my career as a web designer.
I made the decision to quit college and my first full-time job and start my own freelance business when I was 21. This decision led me to some new opportunities and introduced me to the WordPress ecosystem.
In 2015, I published an ebook, The Essential Web Design Handbook, that I’m turning now into a full online web design course to help designers to improve their skills and learn how to design beautiful and effective websites. I’m also working on another book for non-designers at HackYourDesign.com.
Throughout my career I had a chance to work with many successful companies, entrepreneurs, and bloggers whom I helped to design effective websites that work and convert:
Go ahead and choose your theme & we’ll install it for you.
No judgement here if you’re not feeling particularly techy. It’s cool with us: Go ahead and choose your theme and we’ll install it for you, so every bit is set up and ready for you exactly as you see it in the demo.
Add-on service is $149 plus cost of theme
Want a new website ready to go with every Pantone swatch and Google fonts you’ve so judiciously selected for your brand or blog? Upgrade to the customization add-on, and we’ll tweak fonts and colors to match the good thing you’ve already got going—right down to your header logo and linking up your pre-existing social media accounts, taking it all of your plate, so you can go create.
Add-on service is $299 plus cost of theme
Need a bit more of a refresh? Get a theme just like you see it in demo, just with your look and a fresh new header. Select our Design package for everything that comes in the Customization package, plus three new header concepts and two rounds of revisions.
Investment begins at $749
This is where I share the honest things that matter in life. I believe the internet is an obfuscated lens which we hope to be seen through and a staged version we spend most of our time creating.
There is a tremendous amount of substance found within the little things in life, and that is where I want to live deliberately. There are way too many blogs and websites around that skim the surface of life, and this my attempt at doing it the right way.
If you’re interested in getting deeper, my journal is where I share my experiences.
Setting some expectations.
I don’t want to apologize for things that I say, mainly because I feel there’s intrinsic value in people hearing truth. In my opinion, it’s a disservice to everyone when we avoid how we really feel and choose to hold back.
Even though I’m a Christian, I still have the same struggles as the next person. I want to embrace the challenges I face every day without the fear of being judged by anyone. And in return, I promise to do the same for you.
I’ll be upfront and admit this is going to be more of a journal than a place for self-help. I don’t want to tell you what to do and why you should do it, rather why I think what I think and why I do the things I do.
With that said, I reserve the right to write about anything. From my spiritual journey and walk with God, to my infatuation with Sarah McLachlan and Starbucks. And, of course, everything in between. There is a tremendous amount of substance found within the little things in life, and that is where I want to live deliberately.
I’m pretty stoked you’re here and I hope you’re buckled in because it’s gonna be a fun ride.
